Halsey @ La Cigale - Live review
C’est ce mercredi 9 mars que nous nous sommes retrouvé à un concert haut en couleur. C’est à La Cigale que de nombreuses et nombreux fans - on n’oublie pas non plus tous les parents au fond de la salle- se sont réunis pour venir applaudir Halsey.
It’s on Wednesday 9 March that we had the opportunity to see Halsey at La Cigale, where a lot of fans - and parents- came to applause her.
20h00, les lumières s’éteignent, provoquant les cris du public. C’est alors que Borns monte sur scène, accompagné de son groupe. Les premières notes de Seeing Stars résonnent et nous transportent immédiatement sur la côté Californienne, dont ils sont originaires. La salle est sous le charme de la voix particulière du chanteur. Tout le monde chante et danse et les chansons s’enchainent, toutes transportant de la joie : Dopamine, Fool, 10 000 Emeralds Pools. Vient ensuite le moment de ralentir pour un court instant avec Past Lived avant de terminer cette première partie en beauté avec American Money et Electrick Love.
8pm, the room is put into the darkness, making the audience scream. Borns come on stage with its band. Seeing Stars starts and transport us immediately on the Californian coast, where they’re from. The audience is charmes by his unusual voice. Everybody is singing and dancing to Dopamine, Fool and 10,000 Emeralds Pools which all carry happiness in their melody. Then comes the time to slow down a little bit with Past lived before ending the first part with American Money and Electrick Love.
Mais ce n’est qu’à 21h05 que les lumières s’éteignent et que les premières notes de Gasoline résonnent. Halsey monte enfin sur scène et c’est parti pour 1h30 de show. Le public est très réactif et reprend en coeur les paroles tout en dansant. Viennent ensuite Hold Me Down et Castle, avant que la chanteuse prenne le temps de parler à ses fans. Et c’est alors qu’on a le droit à un moment d’émotion : son pianiste demande sa petite-amie en mariage.
It’s only at 9.05pm that the real show begins when Gasoline starts to play. Halsey is finally on stage and ready for a long show. The public is very receptive and knows the lyrics by heart and dances to the music. Then comes Hold Me Down and Castle before the singer takes the time to communicate with her fans. And it’s at this moment that we witness an emotional moment : her pianist asks the hand of his girlfriend.
Et c’est reparti avec un interlude qui s’enchaine sur Strange Love. La salle est en transe. Halsey domine la scène avec sa voix unique et ses quelques gestes sensuels. Tout le monde est conquis. Halsey chante pratiquement toutes les chansons de Badlands dont Haunting, Control, Roman Holiday. Toutes les chansons sont accompagnées d’animations et de jeux de lumières en accord avec la chanson.
And here we go again, the interlude introduces Strange Love. The audience is in trance. Halsey knows how to dominate the stage with her unique voice and her sensual moves. She has won over the fans. She sings almost all the songs from Badlands like Haunting, Control and Roman Holiday. All the songs are stages with an animation and lights that enhance their meaning and atmosphere.
Les fans sont sous le charme et cri le pseudonyme de l’artiste. C’est alors que Ghost commence et que le public chante seul, sans aucune faute. Vient ensuite Is There Somewhere issu de son EP Room 93. Sa chanson préférée. C’est surement durant cette performance qu’elle est le plus proche de son public car elle se fait porté par le premier rang. Malheureusement, le concert touche à sa fin avec quatre autre chansons dont Hurricane et Colors Pt. II. Le show se termine sur Young God. Si les fans avaient encore un doute sur sa présence sur scène, ce concert les a définitivement fait changer d’avis et les a convaincu qu’elle sait faire vibrer une salle de concert !
The fans are screaming at the top of their lungs. Ghost then starts and everybody knows the lyrics by heart. Then comes Is There Somewhere - from her EP Room 93- her favorite of the night. And it’s probably the performance where she’s the closest to the audience as the first row is holding her. Sadly, the concert is about to end with four more songs before really ending with Young God. If some fans were still skeptical about her stage performance, they sure now changed their mind and are won over !
