DISCOVER : Henri Herbert
Quand j'ai été confronté à la musique d'Henri Herbert lors de l'écoute de son premier EP en fin d'année dernière j'ai été de surprise de voir à quel point sa voix se mélangeait parfaitement au piano pour en faire de très bons morceaux de blues.
Le jeune londonien puise son inspiration des plus grands noms du blues et de la musique en général. Little Richard, Johnny Cash, Sam Cooke, Jerry Lee Lewis et Elvis Presley pour ne citer qu'eux. Et c'est d'ailleurs ces deux derniers actes qui ont poussé Henri à faire de la musique et à s'exprimer à travers ces chansons.
Aujourd'hui, l'homme qui décrit sa musique comme "supercharged boogie piano ballads", a su s'entourer de bonnes personnes (Nick Jones à la batterie et Lucas Itié à la basse) pour sortir ses 2 EPs dont You Say sortit en début d'année (qui est une pépite qu'on vous conseille vivement d'écouter).
When I faced Henri Herbert's music last year when I listened to his first EP, I was amazed. His voice and his piano fit so well together to make really good blues tunes.
The young Londoner draw his inspiration from the biggest names in blues and the music industry in general. Little Richard, Johnny Cash, Sam Cooke, Jerry Lee Lewis and Elvis Presley and many more. And i's actually those two last acts who drove Henri to music and to express himself through it.
Today, the man who describe his music as "superchaged boogie piano ballads" managed to surround himself with good people (Nick Jones at the drums and Lucas Itié at the bass) to release his 2 EPs, including You Say which went out at the beginning of the year (and it's really good, we advise you strongly to listen to it).
