Daisy Victoria - Animal Lover
L'anglaise qui est sur le point de sortir son troisième EP a partagé une très belle vidéo pour sa chanson Animal Lover. Filmé avec une caméra Super 8, son clip nous rend nostalgique et nous fait rêver en même temps. Accompagné de la voix plutôt aigue mais très entraînante de la chanteuse qui nous raconte l'histoire d'un homme qui voit sa maison se transformer en ménagerie, Animal Lover est notre bande son pour le reste de l'été. Quand à Daisy Victoria, elle est promise à de beaux jours devant elle, recevant des messages très positifs depuis la sortie de son premier EP en 2014 et étant même comparée à PJ Harvey et Patti Smith. Maintenant on attend qu'une chose : son EP qui sort la semaine prochaine.
The British who's about to release her third EP shared a really nice video for her song Animal Lover. Filmed with a Super 8 camera, her video makes us feel nostalgic but dreamy at the same time. Accompanied with the quite acute but really entertaining voice of the singer who tells the story of a man whose house doubles as a menagerie. Animal Lover is the soundtrack of the rest of our summer. And about Daisy Victoria, she's promised to great days ahead of her, receiving really positive messages since the release of her first EP - she has even been compared to PJ Harvey and Patti Smith! Now the only thing we wait for is her new EP!
Viola Beach - Call You Up
A moins de vivre dans une grotte et si vous suivez l'actualité musicale il y a de fortes chances que vous ayez vu ou entendu parlé de l'album posthume de Viola Beach. Après l'hommage de Coldplay à Glastonbury et avec l'aide de la presse l'album a commencé au top 2 des meilleures ventes sur itunes (il est actuellement n°1). Ici notre avis sur l'album est mitigé, moi (Elena) j'aime beaucoup leur paroles malgré la répétition que peut être musicalement parlant certaines chansons. Noura est plus pessimiste et pense que leur musique ressemble a n'importe quel autre indie band. Quoiqu'il en soit si il y a bien chanson qui m'a retourner la tête (et mon coeur) c'est bien Call You Up. Un moment de calme et de pure lyrisme entre toutes les autres chansons remplies de percussions et de guitares. En plus de mettre en avant le talent du groupe au niveau de l'écriture elle met aussi en avant la voix du chanteur et l'harmonie du groupe. Je vous conseille fortement d'écouter l'album, au moins pour que vous puissiez vus faire votre avis.
If you have any interest in indie music and unless you live in a cave you probably heard about Viola Beach posthume's debut album. After Coldplay's tribute at Glasto and all the press they got their album started at n°2 of the best sells on iTunes (it's n°1 now). Here we have different opinions on their albums. Indeed , I (Elena) really like the lyrics despite how musically repetitive some of they're songs can be. However Noura thinks their just another indie band and that they don't worth it. Whatever, their is at least one song that turned my head (and my heart) upside down : Call You Up. A pure moment of cam and lyrism between of the other songs full of loud percussions and guitars. And this song doesn't only highlight the writing talent of the band, it also highlights the harmony of the band. I strongly recommend you to listen to the album at least once so you can make your own opinion of it.
The Head and The Heart - All We Ever Knew
On finit avec un peu de légéreté et de folk avec The Head and The Heart et leur chanson All We Ever Knew, extrait de leur prochain album à venir. On a découvert le groupe grâce à leur apparence dans la série Roadies (qu'on vous conseille fortement de regarder) et on ne le regrette pas du tout. Les chansons de leurs premier album comme Homecoming Heroes nous rappellent celles des Lumineers pour notre plus grand bonheur. Les 2 extraits de leur prochain album dont All We Ever Knew, montrent une vraie évolution du groupe. Plus posées, ces chansons mettent en avant l'harmonie des chanteurs grâce au duo de voix.
Let's close this post with a bit of lightness and folk with The Head And The Heart and their song All We Ever Knew, an extract from their upcoming new album. The songs from their first album like Homecoming Heroes reminds us of The Lumineers' to our delight. Their next album who's due to be released the 9th of September, already shows a real evolution. Indeed their 2 new songs, including All We Ever Knew, are more serene and highlights the harmony of the band thanks to the matching singers voices.
