LIVE REVIEW : THE BIG MOON @ LA ROTONDE
Jesca Hoop a d’abord merveilleusement ouvert la soirée avec sa douce
musique spirituelle avant de laisser place à The Big Moon.
Jesca Hoop first magically opened the night with her sweet spiritual
music, before The Big Moon’s set.
C’est sur les notes électriques
de Silent Movie Susie, une de leur
premier single, que le set de The Big
Moon a commencé à la Rotonde à Bruxelles. Pour une petite remise en
contexte, les quatres anglaises ont joué à Bruxelles dans le cadre des Nuits
Botaniques, festival de musique qui continue pendant encore deux semaines.
Elles jouaient dans la magnifique et presque complète salle de la Rotonde,
avec autant de personnes qui les connaissaient et arboraient déjà fièrement
leur band tee du groupe que des curieux venus dans le cadre du festival.
It’s on Silent Movie Susie’s
electric notes, one of their first single, that The Big Moon’s set started at La Rotonde in Brussels. For a
little context, the 4 British females played in Bruxelles during Les Nuits
Botaniques, a festival who’s lasting for 2 more weeks. They were playing in
the sweet and almost sold out Rotonde, with as many people who knew them
and who were proudly wearing their band tee than people who came from curiousity.
La
salle est désormais chauffée et elles enchaînent sur une autre ancienne
chanson, Nothing Without You, apparu
dans leur EP On The Road EP. Puis c’est
au tour des de Cupid de résonner dans
la salle et sur les lèvres des fans aux premiers rangs pendant que Juliette, la
lead singer, s’approche et chante et joue devant ce premier rang qui ne demande
que ca. Love in the 4th Dimension et Madge s’enchaînent puis vient le tour de
Zeds, une chanson un peu spécial car,
comme elles tiennent à le préciser, elles ne jouent cette chanson que très
rarement en live et qu’il faut en profiter. Celia précisera même qu’il n’y aura
que deux ballades ce soir et que si on veut make
out avec quelqu’un c’est le moment où jamais. C’est donc sur la douceur et
la pureté de Zeds que le public va doucement bouger et admirer les 4 filles. Le
show continue avec The End, Pull The Other One et Something Beautiful, la 2e
ballade de la soirée qui clôt originellement leur album. La chanson aux rythmes
plus électro va encore plus se différencier avec Juliette qui reviendra hypnotiser
les fans du premier rang avec sa douce voix.
The venue is now warmed up and they’re now playing another old song :
Nothing Without You, from their EP On The Road EP. Then it’s Cupid’s turn to resonate in the venue and on
every fans’ lips in the first row while Juliette, the lead singer, comes closer
and sings and plays in front of this front row who’s asking for it. Love in
the 4th Dimension and Mage are following up with Zeds coming next. It’s a bit of a special song because
it’s one of the two ballads of the night and they’re not playing it very often,
so as Celia said, if anyone wanted to make out – it was the perfect timing. It’s
on Zeds’ sweetness and purity that the audience is slowly dancing and admiring
the girls. The show keeps going with The End, Pull The Other and Something Beauitufl, the 2nd ballad of the night who’s
originally closing the album. The song with it’s electro sound is gonna be even
more special as Juliette is coming once again closer to the first row to sing
and hypnotise the fans’ with her smooth voice.
On arrive à la fin et sonne l’heure
des dernières chansons : Formidable,
Bonfire et Sucker viendront finir le concert et donner un dernier coup de
chaud à la salle, pendant que beaucoup dansent et profitent des derniers
moments avec le groupe.
Le dernier concert de leur tournée européenne s’est terminé en beauté, avec une belle connexion entre le public et le groupe, on garde un superbe souvenir de ce premier concert de The Big Moon – en espérant les revoir très bientôt. The gig is coming to an end and it’s time for the last three songs :
Formidable, Bonfire and Sucker will end the show, and the public enjoyed
dancing and admiring the band one last time.
The last concert of
their European tour ended up in beauty, with a nice connexion between the
audience and the band.
We keep a really good memory of our first The Big Moon’s gig – and we hope to see
