LIVE REVIEW : KELSEY KOPECKY + JOSEPH @ Le POP UP DU LABEL

Au début du mois on s'est rendu au Pop Up Du Label (oui on y passe beaucoup de temps) pour aller découvrir les 3 soeurs de Joseph en live. Et on a pas été déçue car on est sortit du concert inspirée et la tête dans les étoiles.

At the begining of the month we went to le Pop Up DU Label (yes we do spend a lot of time there) to discover the 3 sister's from Joseph live. We weren't disappointed and left the venue inspired and our head in the stars.

Mais d'abord revenons sur la 1e partie, Kelsey Kopecky une singer songwriter et très bonne amie des membres de Joseph qui monte sur scène avec sa guitare électrique pour nous partager son projet solo. En effet, la jeune fille faisait partie d'un groupe avant et a décidé d'aller en solo, pour le meilleur et le pire. Et c'est de ce pire et de ce meilleur qu'elle parlera dans ses chansons, mais avec légèreté. Comme par exemple quand elle explique qu'elle est redevenue nanny car elle ne peut pas vivre de sa musique pour le moment, bref un thème qui au final est vite relatable. C'est la tout l'essence de Kelsey : même si ce dont est parle ne nous dit rien, comme la préparation de son mariage, les paroles sont tellement bien écrites que les notes qui sortent de sa guitare vont naturellement nous emporter et nous faire danser doucement, comme un lundi soir avant Joseph.

But first let's talk about the opening act, Kelsey Kopecky, a singer songwriter and very good friend of Joseph. She went up on stage with her electric guitar and her sweet voice to present us her solo project as a singer. Indeed, the young woman used to be part of a band and then went solo, for the best and the worst. And this is what she talks about in her mixtape "The Babysitter Mixtape" but with humor and lightness. She embraces the good and bad part of her new life and this is what her music is all about. Even if what she writes about may not be familiar to us, like the preparation of her of her wedding, the lyrics are so well written that the melody drives us away naturally and make us dance slowly, like a Monday night before Joseph.

Les 3 soeurs de Joseph arrivent ensuite à un moment où je suis partagée entre le fait que j'ai passé 10 minutes pas agréables a côté d'un mec bourré qui m'ont donné envie de partir et le fait que je veuille vraiment voir les 3 soeurs. Au final je reste et j'ai bien fait parce que Joseph en live c'est la raison pour laquelle les femmes dans l'industrie de la musique ont besoin de plus de visibilité. Joseph c'est 3 femmes talentueuses qui se soutiennent les unes les autres, c'est quand Natalie approuve sur scène les paroles de I Don't Mind, ma chanson préférée du groupe, que Allison a écrite et chante. C'est quand elles soutiennent Kelsey qui a ouvert leur concert et ne disent que de belles choses sur elle, Joseph en live c'est exactement ce dont j'avais besoin : women supporting women. Ce concert, même s'il n'avait pas très bien commencé restera longtemps dans ma mémoire et m'a encore plus donné encore plus envie d'aller voir des groupes composés de femmes. #girlpower

The 3 sisters from Joseph then arrived on stage at a point where after 10 minutes of being annoyed by a drunk middle aged white dude I wanted to leave. But I stayed, because I really wanted to see Joseph live and more specifically, I wanted to see females singing and slaying. And this is exactly what happened. Joseph live it's 3 talented women who support each others, it's Natalie approving the lyrics of I Don't Mind, my favourite song, that Allison wrote and was singing. It's when they support Kesley, their best friend and opening act, and only say great things about her and her music. Joseph live is excatly what I needed : women supporting women. This gig, even if it didn't started well, will stay in my heart for a long time and now more than ever I want to see more female playing live. #girlpower
