Live review : The Orielles in Brussels
En avril on a eu la chance de découvrir en live The Orielles, un jeune groupe de Liverpool qui a sorti son premier album en début d’année. Et je pense que c’est sans surprise que je vais vous dire qu’on les suit depuis longtemps, depuis l'époque où ils postaient juste leurs sons sur soundcloud, où ils avaient à peine 1000 follower sur les réseaux sociaux et où ils étaient très loin de faire un album et de tourner en europe. Mais justement, je crois que ce que j’aime le plus en terme de musique sur ces 6 derniers mois c’est d’avoir enfin la possibilité de voir tous les groupes d’indie rock que j'écoutais quand j’étais ado et qui ne tournaient qu’en Angleterre. Et en plus de m’avoir fait retournée dans mes années ados, The Orielles ont su livré un show brut, comme ils le font si bien en Angleterre. ¨Pas de pression apparente pour le groupe qui nous a fait sentir comme à la maison, qui nous a transporté dans une cave de Liverpool l’espace d’une soirée, de quoi nous faire apprécier pleinement les chansons de leur nouvel album.
In April we were lucky enough to discover in live The Orielles, a young band from Liverpool which released its first album at the beginning of the year. And I think that it is unsurprisingly that I am going to tell you that we follow them for a long time, since the time when they just posted their sounds on soundcloud, where they had hardly 1000 follower on social medias and where they were very far from making an album and touring in Europe. Yet now they are, and they’re not only one. Indeed I believe that what I liked the most in term of live music over the last 6 months is to finally have the possibility to see all the groups of indie rock which I was listening to when I was a teenager but were only touring in England back then. And besides having made me go back in my years teenagers, The Orielles delivered a raw show, as they do it so well in England. No visible pressure for the group which made us feel at home, in an underground venue of Liverpool the space of an evening, of which made us appreciate fully the songs of their new album.
