Live review : Gengahr @ Le Pop Up du Label
Samedi c'était direction le pop up du label pour redécouvrir Gengahr en live, presque un an après les avoir découvert pour la première fois au Point Ephémère.
On saturday night we headed to Le Pop Up du Label to redescover Gengahr in live, almost after the first time we saw them at Le Point Ephémère.
Beach Baby opened the night with a few songs from their just released debut album. I'm not gonna lie, at first I wasn't a big fan of them but I was very surprises to discover them live. They share a singular energy that bound us to them for a few songs.

But the biggest surprise of the night definitely was Gengahr themselves. When I saw them for the first time last year they did a really good performance but something felt wrong. Was it the audience ?! Or maybe the size of the venue (which was way bigger than le Pop Up du Label) ?! Maybe it was both ?! This time we weren't even 200, the band was in excellent mood and especially every single person in the room was happy to be here and you could feel it. After all i think that for a gig to be memorable you need the artist and the audience to be bounded to make it work. Last Saturday night was exactly that. Gengahr's perforlabce was beyond my expectation such as the effect it did on me. Between extracts from their first album and some new songs from their second album in the making, their music crushed my soul at every lyric or note getting out their instruments. The public was really into the gig, especially in the first row were their biggest fans were singing and dancing. And it's with butterflies in my stomach and an heavy heart that the night ended on Powder, their first single.
