Live Review : Oscar @ Le Botanique
Notre mois d'octobre a commencé en allant au concert d'Oscar au Woofle bar Le Botanique à Bruxelles. Étant le seul acte à se produire dans la cave qu'est le Woofle bar, le concert à débuté dès 20h45 pour plus d'une heure de concert.
For us, october started by going to Oscar's gig at Woofle Bar in Le Botanique in Brussels. Being the only one to perform in the small cellar that is the Woofle Bar, the gig started at around 20h45, for more than an hour of music.
A chaque fois que j'entre dans une salle de concert la première pensée qui me vient à l'idée (après avoir cherché le bar) c'est "qu'est-ce qu'il va se passer?". Après avoir vu un certains nombres d'artistes en concert j'ai toujours cette mini peur que ce soit ennuyant, qu'il ne se passe rien d'extraordinaire et qu'au final le concert ne soit que banal. Mais en fait chaque concert est différent, tout comme l'est l'artiste qui joue sur scène, la public présent et la salle dans lequel se déroule le concert. J'étais quand même assez pressée de revoir Oscar sur scène, d'une part en tant qu'headliner mais aussi pour voir à quel point il avait évolué depuis la première fois que je l'ai vu, il y a presque un an tout pile, ouvrant pour Gengahr. En un an, Oscar a sortit un album et c'est surtout affirmé, autant dans son identité visuelle qu'artiste en général. Et j'ai pas été déçue son évolution scénique. Tout d'abord il à lâché sa guitare : son groupe joue avec passion la guitare, basse, batterie et le synthé pendant qu'il se déhanche de façon décontracté en chantant. C'est avec une alchimie particulière et une ambiance très colorée qui nous fait penser aux années 1980 qu'Oscar nous livre sa performance pleine d'énergie et de pop.
Everytime i'm stepping into a venue, the first thought that comes to my mind (after looking for the bar) is "what is going to happen ?". After seeing quite a few artists live I always have this fear inside of me that it's gonna be boring, that nothing extraordinary happens and it turned to be an average gig. But actually every gig is different, such as the artists on stage, and the audience and the venue. I was still excited about seeing Oscar thought. First of all, as an headliner but also to see how much he has evolved since the first time I saw him opening for Gengahr almost a year ago from now. In only a few months, Oscar released an album and especially asserted himself, as much in his visual identity as an artist in general. And I wasn't disappointed by his stage evolution, First, he dropped his guitar : his band is playing with passion the guitar, bass, drum and synthe while he sways casually singing. It's with a particular alchemia and a very colorful atmosphere which reminded us of the 80's that Oscar's deliver us his performance full of pop and energy.
Un des moments moments les plus forts de cette soirée restent Oscar qui reprend sa guitare pour Sometimes et qui avec son groupe, fait bouger littéralement tout le monde. D'ailleurs pendant cette heure de concert, on a pu plus qu'apprécier les membres de ce groupe, tous aussi talentueux et passionnés les uns que les autres, ils se sont tous autant donnés qu'Oscar, pour le plaisir de nos yeux et de nos oreilles.
One of the highlights of the night stays Oscar's taking back his guitar on Sometimes and, with his band, managed to move the whole audience. Moreover, during this hour of performance, we had plenty of time to appreciate the members of his band, all as talented and passionate than the others, they all gave themselves as much as Oscar, for the pleasure of our eyes and our ears.
Et le meilleur pour la fin, Oscar appréciant (ou détestant, on sait toujours pas) son nouveau t-shirt des Smiths.
